What Is JNightZ?

JNightZ is a Monday–Friday overnight camp experience that blends the excitement of overnight camp with the comfort of being home on weekends. Campers spend their days at Camp Shalom at the Palm Beach Gardens JCC, followed by evenings just five minutes away at the FAU Jupiter campus, where they enjoy extended camp fun and unique nighttime programming.

Campers experience some of the highlights of overnight camp, including evening activities, shared breakfasts and dinners with friends, and comfortable, air-conditioned dorms for sleeping and showering. Each Friday, campers return home for the weekend, creating a balanced experience that offers independence, connection, and fun, without being away from home all summer.

It’s a perfect blend of independence, friendship, and adventure. Reserve your camper’s spot now and secure their place in this unforgettable camp experience.

JNightZ Frequently Asked Questions

When is drop-off and pick-up?

Campers will be dropped off at the Mandel JCC, Palm Beach Gardens, on Mondays at 9:00 am and picked up on Fridays at 4:00 pm.

We normally go to the Mandel JCC in Boynton Beach. Can my child participate in JNightZ?

Yes! We provide transportation from the Mandel JCC, Boynton Beach, to Palm Beach Gardens on Monday mornings and return to Boynton Beach on Friday afternoons.

What if I only want to send my camper for a partial session?

To fully experience overnight camp, campers need to register for at least one complete session. They can join multiple sessions, but each must be completed in full.

Will my child’s day camp group be the same as their JNightZ group?

JNightZ campers will have a day camp group at the Mandel JCC that may include both JNightZ campers and day-camp-only campers. Groups are created based on interest (traditional vs. sports), age/grade, and friend requests.

While your child may have some familiar faces in their JNightZ group, it’s not guaranteed. Please note specific friend requests at registration.

My child wants to be with a friend during the day who is not attending JNightZ. Can they still be together?

Yes! Day group requests and night group requests are separate, so your child can be with friends who aren’t attending JNightZ, as well as friends who are.

Will my child have the same counselor during the day and at night?

Campers have different day and night counselors, as they are in separate groups. Both counselors will be aware of any needs your child may have.

Can I see my camper during the week?

To ensure your JNightZ camper has the full experience, we ask that campers not be visited between Monday drop-off and Friday pick-up. Campers should not be picked up for appointments, tutors, sports, etc.

What if my child gets homesick?

It’s natural for some campers, especially first-timers, to feel homesick. JNightZ staff are trained to support campers and will contact you if necessary.

Can I communicate with my camper during the week?

You may send letters, small packages, or emails daily. Campers can email home once per week. Phone calls are not permitted, though staff will communicate with you if needed.

How many campers will be in a room?

Each dorm suite houses 3–4 campers. Suites include a common area, four separate bedrooms, a shared bathroom with a sink and shower, and an additional shared bathroom with a sink and toilet.
