At Camp Shalom, we understand the distinct needs of families with older kids, and our focus is on providing an environment that supports their growth and independence. We aim to foster meaningful peer relationships while acknowledging and respecting the individual needs of each camper. The camp schedule is thoughtfully designed to offer a blend of traditional camp programming and personalized group activities, ensuring that your camper has a well-rounded experience. Each week, they can look forward to special event days, field trips, choice programs, and dress-up days!

Camp Shalom Provides…

Every day is a Special Day at Camp Shalom! Each day features a selection of traditional camp activities including:

Woodworking!

Unleash your creativity with Wood Shop, our exciting new program where kids in 4th–8th grade learn the art of woodworking. Campers will participate in either a Chugim program or scheduled weekly activity depending on grade level. Campers will design, build, and bring their ideas to life using real tools in a safe and supportive environment. This activity fosters problem-solving, confidence, and teamwork while creating fun projects

Campers Participate In…

  • Each week has several special activities including camp favorites like Gold Rush and Lip Sync Contest!
  • Dress Up Days
  • Special Event Theme Days
  • Maccabi Games
  • Shabbat
  • Chugims (Choice Elective Program)
  • Field Trips (Grades 4 – 8)

Campers going into grades 4 – 5 will typically go on 1 field trip a week. Trips are during camp weeks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, & 9.

Campers going into grades 6 – 8 will have a mix of trips plus middle school only special events each week. Trips are during camp weeks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, & 9.

A Typical Day

Campers will be divided into age-appropriate groups, and each day of Camp Shalom contains programming to target the needs of every camper.

Boker Tov

Energized spirit fest to start the day off right! At Boker Tov we sing all our favorite camp songs and enjoy exciting bunk competitions.

Bunk Time

A time and place to develop and strengthen friendships in a small group setting while engaged in social activities. During bunk time campers participate in activities such as:

  • Group Games
  • Gaga
  • Scavenger Hunts
  • Fuse Beads & Crafts

Specialty Period 2

Archery · Israeli Culture · Art · Ninja Warrior

Lunch

Campers enjoy eating either in the cafeteria or bunk room with friends.

Free Swim

Free swim is facilitated by our in-house aquatics team JSwim.
