A Summer Built Around Adventure

The Summer 2026 calendar for Kochavim, Tzofim, and Varsity Sports campers (4th – 8th grade) is packed from June through early August with activities designed to challenge, entertain, and inspire. No two weeks look the same, and that is exactly the point.

Every Monday is Mitzvah Monday, a weekly tradition that keeps Jewish values and community spirit at the heart of camp life. Tuesdays bring Chugim, rotating electives that let campers choose activities based on their own interests. Fridays are reserved for something special. Shabbat celebrations, pool parties, food trucks, and signature events make the end of every week feel like a celebration.

Highlights Still to Come This Summer

Here is a look at what campers have ahead of them through August:

Week 2 (June 15 – 19)

Things heat up fast with a trip to Xtreme Action Park and a Young Chefs Academy experience, followed by a Late Night at the JCC. The week wraps up with a Color Run on Friday—a messy, colorful tradition campers look forward to all year.

Week 3 (June 22 – 26)

Campers head out for an Airboat Ride and a visit to Tiki Taxi, while Wednesday brings the creative Space Rodeo experience. The week closes out with Camp Shalom Olympics and a Pool Party Shabbat, a crowd favorite every summer.

Week 4 (June 29 – July 3)

Independence Week kicks off with Iron Edge Axe Throwing and a trip to Rapids Water Park, followed by a Stars & Stripes themed Wednesday to celebrate the holiday. The week ends a day early for the Fourth of July holiday.

Week 5 (July 6 – 10)

An Animal Experience on Monday sets the tone for a week full of discovery. Campers head to Surf Camp, explore brand identity through a Logos to Life program, and spend Thursday night at a Paradise Cove Overnight right here at the JCC. The week wraps up with a Golden Carnival on Friday.

Week 6 (July 13 – 17)

Water Palooza Monday kicks off a week packed with a Beach Day elective, a Superhero-themed Wednesday for Camp Kindness Day, and an Urban Air Overnight experience. Food Truck Shabbat closes out the week with everyone gathered together.

Week 7 (July 20 – 24)

Campers channel their inner detectives with a Clue Mystery on Monday before heading to Dezerland for their elective. Jungle-Mania takes over Wednesday, and Thursday brings a Digital Blitz trip to the Delray Marketplace and a visit to Boulder Bloc. The week finishes with Duck Derby on Friday.

Week 8 (July 27 – 31)

The most anticipated week of every summer: Color War. The entire camp comes together for four days of friendly competition, teamwork, and energy before closing out with Camp Montage—a celebration of everything the summer has been.

Week 9 (August 3 – 7)

The final stretch brings Bubble Rumble, Goat Yoga, Sports & Sparkles, and a visit to Off the Wall. Camp closes out the season on Friday with a Foam Party, because what better way to say goodbye to summer?

More Than Just Activities

What makes Camp Shalom stand out is not just the calendar—it is the community. Campers build friendships that last well beyond August, supported by a  highly trained staff that keeps safety and connection at the center of every single day. The Mandel JCC has built Camp Shalom around values of inclusivity, personal growth, and Jewish tradition, and those values show up in every Mitzvah Monday, every Shabbat celebration, and every moment in between.

Counselors are background-checked and experienced, camper-to-staff ratios are intentionally kept low, and families receive regular updates so you always know what your child is up to. Flexible hours from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm make it easy to fit camp into a busy family schedule, and before and after care options are available for additional convenience.

For families interested in a deeper overnight experience, JNightZ offers a Monday through Friday overnight option that combines the adventure of sleepaway camp with the comfort of coming home on weekends, perfect for older campers ready to take that next step.
