PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (MARCH 24, 2017) The Mandel Jewish Community Center of the Palm Beaches is most pleased that the investigation of the recent anti-Semitic threats and events at Jewish Community Centers and Jewish institutions throughout North America and abroad has progressed and that a suspect has been identified as being responsible for many of these incidents. The suspect, an individual with dual American-Israeli citizenship is under arrest in the city of Ashkelon, Israel.

CAMP TIKVAH, SUMMER INCLUSION PROGRAM FOR SPECIAL NEEDS CHLIDREN, RECEIVES $8,000 DONATION PYTHIAN YOUTH FOUNDATION
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (July 24, 2016) – Camp Tikvah, the special needs program at the Mandel JCC’s Camp Shalom, received an $8,000 donation from the Pythian Youth Foundation, Inc. The foundation is the charitable arm of the Knights of Pythias of Florida, an international fraternal organization. This generous support brings the organization’s total donation to the Mandel JCC over $50,000 over the past nearly 15 years.

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (May 17, 2016) – Amy Nelson, a distinguished educator with deep ties to the Jewish community, has been announced as the new Director of the Edward & Thelma Glantz Early Childhood Learning Center at Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches in Boynton Beach. Nelson’s leadership style is focused around creating a cohesive classroom community, along with an emphasis on the development of special relationships with the child and his/her family. The program, which has full and part-time options for children three months and older, provides a nurturing, growth oriented environment where children are encouraged to be inquisitive in their pursuit of academic acuity and socialization skills.

(April 27, 2016) – Over 100 guests mingled and danced the night away at The Loft at Congress in Boca Raton for the Mandel JCC Boynton Beach’s second annual “Saturday Night @ the J.” The party, which featured a fun flashback to the 80’s, was held Saturday, April 2, 2016. More than $4000 was raised for the JCC’s children and family programming and scholarships.

The event will feature health screenings, cooking demonstrations and complimentary access to the fitness center and exercise classes. The event is free and open to the community.
It is with profound respect and heartfelt appreciation that the Mandel Jewish Community Center (JCC) announces the resignation of Paul L. Gross, Chairman of the Board of Directors. Paul has chosen to relinquish his responsibilities several months shy of the conclusion of his term in an effort to kick-start the agency’s governance leadership transition. As “immediate past chair,” he plans to remain an active member of the Board of Directors to continue his work on behalf of the JCC and the Palm Beach Jewish community.
