Better Balance & Stability Classes

Poor balance, a persistent problem for many Americans, can often be a trigger for falls. Learn and practice exercises to help improve your balance, and decrease your risk of falling with this 10-week class. Ability to lower and lift from the floor is required for participation. Includes a pre and post balance assessment with a Jupiter Medical Center Physical Therapist.

BLAST! Babysitter Lessons & Safety Training Course

BLAST! prepares participants to interview for babysitting jobs and begin babysitting safely and competently. This course teaches skills in pediatric first aid, household safety, and the fundamentals of childcare with a research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students. Successful participants receive a 2 year American Heart Association Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR, AED and Babysitter certification cards. Lunch will be provided. Ideal for participants age 11+.

Be Less Stressed: An Introduction to Mindfulness

Jupiter Medical Center, in collaboration with the University of Massachusetts Center for Mindfulness, is pleased to offer Mindfulness- Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). MBSR is proven to be effective in helping to treat work, family and financial stress and anxiety in addition to many common issues such as sleep disorders, fatigue, headaches and high blood pressure. Parent Child Playdate: Supporting Healthy Development

Your child’s growth not only involves length and weight, but also includes development of skills in the area of movement, communication and social emotional areas. As your baby begins to grow, you will notice new and exciting abilities that develop. Children grow at different rates and understanding how to facilitate your baby’s growth will help you to see and enjoy their progress. Parent and child are invited to join Jupiter Medical Center Senior Pediatric Therapist, Maureen Hollis PT, for a play-date to interact with other parents and children while learning more about how to support and facilitate healthy child development. (Ideal for ages 6 months to 15 months.)

Parkinson's Patients & Caregivers Support Group 

This group is for anyone living with Parkinson’s disease, including patients, caregivers, spouses, and their loved ones. Attending the group will give you an opportunity to share stories and network with others. This group is provided by the American Parkinson Disease Association South Florida Chapter.

Surf & Turf Fitness 

For people with Parkinson’s disease, exercise is not only healthy, but a vital component to maintaining balance, mobility and daily living activities. This hybrid land & water class is specifically designed for individuals with Parkinson’s, but is also great for those with other movement disorders. Surf days are taught in the pool and turf days are taught in the studio.
