SPECIALTY CLASSES

TRX® Suspension Training

A revolutionary method of leveraged bodyweight exercise using TRX® straps.  Perform hundreds of exercises that build power, strength, flexibility, balance, mobility, and prevent injuries all at the intensity you choose.  Try it and you’ll be hooked! (B,I,A)

TRX classes have limited space and require 24-hour advance registration for guaranteed participation.  Reservations can be made at 561-712-5200 or online at (insert website).

JCC Members: $8 per single class ; $30 unlimited for the month

JCC Guests: $20 per single class ; $60 unlimited for the month *only applies to specialty classes


 

CARDIO

Dance Aerobics – Easy to follow aerobic routines to fun “oldies” or show tunes, suitable for active seniors or anyone interested in an enjoyable low-impact cardio class.  Class may include balance exercises and the use of strength tools such as dumbbells or resistance bands. (B,I)

Total Body Circuit – Get a challenging workout as you move through a series of stations designed to elevate your heart rate and work your muscles. Stations may include body weight exercises, weights, bars, stability balls, , etc. (B,I,A)

Kangoo Jumps – Kangoo fitness is a unique class that provides a workout for aerobics, strength, core, balance while helping to reduce excess fat, induce euphoria, stimulate the lymphatic system AND balance your metabolism!  It’s a high energy, safe, fun and effective class that you don’t want to miss! (Open to ages 14+)  $5 Jump Boot Rental – 48-hour reservation required (B,I,A)

Spin Fusion – An intense, low-impact cardio workout that can be modified for participants of all fitness levels.  Instructors will lead you through a challenging series of courses to maximize your caloric burn.  (B,I,A)


 

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

Barre Above™ – Barre Above™ is an eclectic and progressive method of barre training for all bodies.  Barre Above™ is based on functional movements in all three planes of motion to create strength, flexibility, and balance in the body and guaranteeing a fun, effective, and efficient workout for all fitness levels. BYOB Bootcamp –  B.ring Y.our O.wn B.ody and get in shape bootcamp style!  This high intensity workout will target the major muscle groups to increase strength, flexibility and cardiovascular stamina.  Join for this fun, challenging, early morning session! (B,I,A)

Jillian Michael’s BodyShred™ - Jillian Michael’s BodyShred™ is a high intensity and endurance based 30-minute workout.  Utilizing Jillian’s 3-2-1 interval approach, complete intervals of 3-minutes of strength, 2-minutes of cardio, and 1-minute of abs.  You will shed fat, define muscles and enhance your overall health and athletic performance. PiYo® - PiYo® combines the muscle-sculpting, core-firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility advantages of yoga.  We crank up the speed to deliver a true fat-burning, low-impact workout that leaves your body looking lean and defined. (I,A)

Power Pump – This weight training class will give you a full body strength workout using both body weight and equipment (free weights, barbells, bands, medicine balls, kettle bells and/or bosus). (I,A)

R.I.P.P.E.D. – Experience this total body "plateau proof fitness formula" workout, utilizing resistance and cardio training, which masterfully combines Resistance, Intervals, Power, Plyometrics, Endurance, and Diet components of R.I.P.P.E.D. to help you attain and maintain your physique in ways that are fun, safe, doable and extremely effective. National Parkinson’s Foundation (NPF) Surf & Turf – This class is designed to improve posture, strength and balance.  This class is specifically designed for individuals with Parkinson’s, but is also great for those with other movement disorders. (B)

Tabata Bootcamp – This form of high intensity interval training is designed to boost post exercise caloric burn, so your metabolism keeps burning more calories long after the exercise is over.  (B,I,A)


 

MIND BODY

Kundalini Yoga – A science that consciously combines postures, breath, hand mudras, sound current and body locks to balance the glandular system, strengthen the nervous system, expand lung capacity and purify the blood.  It brings balance to the body, mind and soul and increases sensory awareness.  (B,I,A)

Restorative Yoga – Restorative yoga provides healing for the body and the mind.  Perfect for eliminating fatigue and stress that result from your daily activities.  It can also help with recovery from illness and injury or overcoming emotional blockages.  Practice of restorative yoga will make your body less vulnerable to stress related illnesses and help you achieve optimal health.  ACTIVE SENIORS

Balance & Stability – While incorporating the use of a Swiss therapy ball, the participant will be led through a series of  exercises to improve strength, flexibility and balance.  Ability to lower and lift from floor required. 

SilverSneakers Classic – Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support.

SilverSneakers Circuit – Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball is alternated with low-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is used for standing support, stretching and relaxation exercises.

SilverSneakers Yoga –  Move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

CardioFit – Get up and go with an aerobic class that’s safe, heart-healthy and gentle on the joints. The workout includes easy-to-follow low-impact movement and upper-body strength, abdominal conditioning, stretching and relaxation exercises designed to energize your active lifestyle.

Zumba Gold® – Zumba® is a Latin inspired dance Fitness program. Zumba Gold® is perfect for active seniors or anyone looking for a modified Zumba® class that recreates the original moves, at a lower-intensity. The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination.


 

KID FRIENDLY

JFit Kidz Workout – Healthy kids are happy kids! This fun, upbeat class is an opportunity for your child to increase their physical activity in a fun setting! Under the guidance of a certified fitness instructor, they will learn to safely use body resistance and popular exercise equipment to the beat of their favorite songs!  Designed for children ages 7 – 13. 


 

IN THE POOL

AquaFit – Get a whole body workout with half the impact on your joints.  A fun workout in our shallow water pool that will strengthen the cardiovascular system while toning your major muscle groups.  Water barbells, noodles are used to increase resistance and intensity. Classes are taught in the heated, outdoor pool. Classes will be cancelled for outside temperatures below 50 degrees. (B,I,A)

Hydro Pilates - This non-impact strengthening and stretching water class offers postures and movements adaptable for anyone. Practicing Pilates in the water develops trunk stabilization, enhances muscle strength, helps correct posture, and relieves stress.  This series of exercises initiates all of the movements from the abdominals, lower back, hip and buttocks, and flows outward to the extremities.
