THE GRINSPOON FOUNDATION AWARDS LITAL DAYAN OF MANDEL JCC FOR “EXCELLENCE IN JEWISH EDUCATION”
PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (May 10, 2016) – Leadership at the Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches announced that Lital Dayan, Early Childhood Learning Center Curriculum and Jewish Education Coordinator, was honored with the2016 North American Grinspoon Award. This elite national award recognizes one educator in each region of the United States for his or her commitment to the field of Jewish education.
MANDEL JCC LAUNCHES AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM AT PALM BEACH GARDENS AND BOYNTON BEACH LOCATIONS
PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (April X, 2016) – Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches, which has earned a quality reputation for its preschool, day camp and enrichment classes, announced today it will launch an after-school program for Kindergarten through 5th grade students for the 2016-2017 academic school year. The program – called Beyond the Bell in Palm Beach Gardens and Club J in Boynton Beach – will provide a seamless transition from the school day. Children and parents can expect an environment that emphasizes one-on-one attention, and a thoughtful program that engages children with enriching, dynamic activities.
MICHAEL RUDNET NAMED TO DUAL ROLE OF SPORTS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR & ASSISTANT CAMP DIRECTOR FOR MANDEL JCC PALM BEACH GARDENS
Palm Beach Gardens, FLA. (February XX, 2016) – The Mandel JCC Palm Beach Gardens recently named Michael Rudnet its new Sports and Recreation Director, as well as Assistant Director for Camp Shalom. Rudnet brings over a decade of experience in educating and coaching sports at the middle and high school levels. He has been involved with the Mandel JCC for years, working particularly with the camp and special needs programs. Since his recent transition into the Sports and Recreation Director role, Rudnet already has introduced plans to launch a brand-new sports program in Fall 2016.
It is with profound respect and heartfelt appreciation that the Mandel Jewish Community Center (JCC) announces the resignation of Paul L. Gross, Chairman of the Board of Directors. Paul has chosen to relinquish his responsibilities several months shy of the conclusion of his term in an effort to kick-start the agency’s governance leadership transition. As “immediate past chair,” he plans to remain an active member of the Board of Directors to continue his work on behalf of the JCC and the Palm Beach Jewish community.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (January, 2016) – For those seeking the fun balance between carb loading and a community race, the Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches will present its inaugural “Bagel Dash” 5K Run and WalkSunday, April 17, 2016 at 7:30 a.m. This fun, family-oriented race features a looped course by Lake Osbourne through John Prince Park in Lake Worth, followed by a bagel breakfast presented by Strathmore Bagels & Deli. The race is open to all ages and the first 300 people to register will receive a dri-fit shirt and goodie bag.

(February 1, 2016) – The Mandel JCC Palm Beach Gardens will debut an impressive exhibition, “Unbounded: Bringing Art to Life,” featuring the works of talented 18-year old Zachary Rapaport on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. The exhibit runs through March 24, 2016 in the Bente S. and Daniel M. Lyons Art Gallery and is free and open to the community. Rapaport’s exhibit combines engineering with art, featuring a kinetic installation brought to life through interaction, movement and performance.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (December X, 2015) – The Mandel JCC Palm Beach Gardens, in partnership with Jupiter Medical Center (JMC), is kicking off the New Year with a revamped Health and Wellness program featuring dozens of group fitness classes, and access to the Mandel JCC’s brand new state-of-the-art fitness center, as well as large-scale and specialty wellness programs, healthy living lectures, complimentary health coaching and biometric screenings and more. Spring fitness classes and programs begin January 2, 2016. A “Commit to Be Fit Challenge”, which includes prizes in three categories, will kick off January 11, 2016.

The event commenced with a book fair and silent auction and continued with a beautiful lunch and author presentation. Beryl Schneider and Cynthia Liebman served as co-chairs; honorary co-chairs were Andee Sussman and N. Deborah Stapler.

A grand opening reception, scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Bente S. and Daniel M. Lyons Art Gallery, is free and open to the public. Liman’s exhibit is highlighted by vibrant floral paintings that reflect her passionate and intimate connection to nature. The exhibit runs through December 10, 2015.
MANDEL JCC’S 21st ANNUAL JEWISH BOOK FESTIVAL TO FEATURE 17 EXCITING AUTHOR EVENTS
PALM BEACH GARDENS (October 12, 2015) – The Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches has become recognized for creating one of the area’s most prominent cultural events: its Annual Book Festival, which runs November 2015 through April 2016, featuring 17 stimulating, heart-warming and entertaining authors at venues ranging from the elegant Kravis Center to country clubs and private homes. Highlights for this year’s festival include novels ranging from inspirational memoirs to romance tales and moving Holocaust survivor stories. The 2015-2016 Book Festival is co-chaired by Nancy Sims and Lois Steinberg for the Mandel JCC Palm Beach Gardens events and Cathy Einhorn for the Mandel JCC Boynton Beach events.

Free group fitness classes and fitness center open to public October 15-31
PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLA. (September 29, 2015) – To celebrate the highly anticipated grand opening of its fitness center, the Mandel JCC Palm Beach Gardens will kick off two weeks of promotions from October 15 to 31, 2015, with the unlimited opportunity for the public to test out the fitness center and its dozens of fitness classes for free. Additional highlights include complimentary babysitting with membership, a free juice bar the first week from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., the chance to win a free membership and a gift to the first 100 people to come to the fitness center. The JCC is located at 5221 Hood Road.
