NATIONAL BRIDGE CHAMPION MARTY BERGEN HOSTS SEMINAR TO KICK OFF MANDEL JCC’S EXPANDED BRIDGE PROGRAM

PALM BEACH GARDENS (September, 2013) – The new Mandel JCC in Palm Beach Gardens has expanded its popular Stayman Memorial Bridge Program, featuring new teachers, classes, workshops and weekly supervised play sessions. Bridge players of all skill levels are invited to the program’s kick-off seminar celebration on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. to be hosted by 10-time national champion Marty Bergen.

The seminar, titled “What to do after a preempt,” includes coffee, lunch, snacks, and any two of Bergen’s 32 new booklets. The seminar is $50, and Friends of the J receive a 15 percent discount. There will be a duplicate bridge game following the lecture. Pre-registration is required for the seminar.

Starting Monday, October 14, 2013 the Mandel JCC Palm Beach Gardens will offer duplicate bridge five days a week. The program will also feature new directors, state-of-the-art electronic scoring equipment, pre-made boards and hand records. The ACBL-sanctioned games start promptly at 12:30 p.m., with a light lunch served immediately beforehand. The bridge program in its previous temporary location drew more than 100 people each day.
