Join us as we travel to beautiful Hutchinson Island to visit the Elliott Museum and the Refuge House at Gilbert's Bar. The museum was built by Harmon Elliot as a tribute to his father, Sterling Elliot, an inventor. Leaving the Elliot, our next stop is the Gilbert's Bar House of Refuge, the only one of ten houses of refuge that still exist. After lunch at the Prawnbroker Grill, we will visit the Fish House Art Center which is "home" to resident artists' studios. You will be able to watch them work and purchase their creations.
This trip is all inclusive.
Join us as we spend the day in Miami Beach taking a walking tour which highlights the Jewish history as well as the art deco style of the southern part of the area visiting the Jewish Museum of Florida. The museum focuses on the history of the Jewish experience in Florida, the ways in which Florida Jews influence and are influenced by the cultural dynamics of Florida, the nation, and the world, and issues of discrimination against all peoples in Florida throughout history. In order to provide a more personalized experience, we will be splitting our group into two smaller ones. While one group is inside exploring the museum with a docent, the other group will be outside taking a narrated walking tour with a guide. We all meet for lunch at the museum, and afterwards the morning inside group will tour outside, and the morning outside group will explore the museum. The cost for this trip includes lunch, admission to the museum, and tours.
Ever wonder what it’s like on the other side of the curtain? Come with us as we go behind-the-scenes at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Overlooking the New River in downtown Fort Lauderdale, the Center brings Broadway musicals, operas, ballets, concerts, plays, and education events to South Florida. Recently renewed and expanded, the Center has updated theaters, more dining spaces, and two new buildings, the Huizenga Pavilion and the Rose Miniaci Arts Education Center. After lunch it’s all aboard for a narrated cruise through the “Venice of America”. The tour takes us along the New River, to the Intracoastal Waterway, and into Port Everglades. Among the sights you will see are the Stranahan House, the oldest surviving structure in Broward County, elaborate mansions and celebrity homes of Millionaires Row, and the massive yachts docked outside these homes and at Bahia Mar Marina, Hyatt Pier 66 and the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Grande. Cost of trip includes lunch.
