Discover the Treasures of Homestead Coral Castle and Spice & Fruit Park

Join us as we explore the “treasures” of Homestead and Redland. Prepare to be amazed with a docent guided tour of the Coral Castle. It was built single-handedly, and secretly, by Edward Leedskalnin who used homemade tools and his unknown process to carve over 1,100 tons of coral rock into one of the world’s most mysterious accomplishments. Leaving the Castle we’ll head to the Fruit and Spice Park where after lunch we’ll take a narrated tram tour of the park, which is laid out by the tropical, geographical regions of the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia, and contains more than 500 varieties of fruit, nut, and spice trees. You will have an opportunity to sample many of the fruits grown in the park. This trip is all inclusive.

Explore the Treasure Coast St. Lucie Historical Center and the Indian River Lagoon

Overlooking the magnificent Indian River in Museum Point Park, the Regional History Center offers a glimpse at the foundation of our community. From our earliest known residents, the Ais Indians, to the Creek and later the Seminoles, you can see their lifestyle in the artifacts and displays. Trace the rise of the fishing industry and the failed efforts at making us the “Pineapple Capital of the World.” Go shopping in Cobb’s General Store or take a walk down Main Street, past the doctor’s office and the printing press. Step back into the 1900’s with a tour of the fully
furnished Gardner House.

In order to provide a more personalized experience, we will be splitting our group into two smaller ones. While one group is inside exploring the historic center with a docent, the other group is taking a narrated boat tour of the Indian River Lagoon. After lunch at the Manatee Grille, the morning inside group will take the lagoon tour while the morning outside group will explore the museum. This trip is all inclusive. We suggest comfortable shoes, and since you will be outside in the Florida sunshine, we also suggest bringing hats, sunglasses, and sun block. We will supply bottled water.

Historic Stuart and Jupiter Island

Step back in time as we visit the Stuart Heritage Museum, and learn about the unusual, the forgotten, and some of the fascinating people, events, and places from Martin County’s history. Located in the oldest commercial building in the county, the museum preserves the heritage, artifacts, and spirit of the community. Our next stop is the Lyric Theater, where we will take a tour behind the scenes. Built in 1926 as a silent movie house, this grand old theater was a central gathering place for young and old alike. From there it is a short trip to the dock where we’ll begin a narrated 4 hour luncheon cruise of Jupiter Island with its celebrity homes, vast nature preserves, and its famous lighthouse. This trip is all inclusive.

Discover Palm Beach County History

Meet us at the Palm Beach County History Museum located within the historic 1916 Courthouse in downtown West Palm Beach. You will travel through time on a docent led tour of the museum’s exhibits, which pay tribute to the people who have shaped Palm Beach County from its Pre-Columbian to modern time. Your tour will take you to the original 1916 courtroom with its exhibits on government and the election process. You will also view this year’s special exhibit, “For the Love of the Game: Baseball in the Palm Beaches”, which highlights the impact of America’s Pastime over 120 years in Palm Beach County.

Following our visit, we will have lunch at a nearby restaurant. To provide the optimum experience, we will be splitting our participants into two groups for the tour. We are therefore limiting the number of people for this excursion to 40.
