Needlepoint with Norm!
Norm Lieber has been making hand stitched needlepoint tapestries for the past 30 years. Here at the Mandel JCC, Norm is the designer and creator of the JCC Tapestry Project which can be seen every day at the entrance to the Peggy Brown Social Hall. The secret is in the stitching. For six weeks you will learn his stitching, rhythm and participate in creating something new and wonderful! All materials provided.

Alzheimer’s Support Group – Take Back Your Life!
Find refuge at the JCC and Take Back Your Life! This support group will meet every other week and is geared towards helping Adult children caring for Parents with Alzheimer’s. Professional facilitators from the Alzheimer’s Association help guide you through the process.

Create Better Paintings
This dynamic focused studio-style workshop program will produce artists who can call upon their abilities to create art with a “sense of purpose and desired quality.” Instructor: Hugh O’Neill

Learn to paint like Helen Frankenthaler and Jackson Pollock. Learn the technique of pouring paint. Using acrylic paint, explore different ways of mark making. Build up your image with transparent washes and glazing techniques. The painting experience suggests ideas that create the final concept. Instructor: Roxene Sloate

Still Life Painting
Students will work on color harmonies, composition, and issues of light and dark values to create dynamic still lifes. Participants will learn how to orchestrate set ups using their own objects as well as objects provided by the instructor. Acrylic or Oil Paints. Instructor: Nancy Tart

Mandel JCC Book Club
Join other book lovers as we read and discuss a wide array of current Jewish-themed books, from memoir to fiction. We have arranged to have the authors participate in the discussion via Skype. The book club will meet on the third Thursday of each month.
