The Art of Buying Art
If you buy or intend to buy art, do you know the difference between a giclee and an archival print, or what defines ‘fine art’? Enjoy an engaging conversation about the questions to ask, and how to evaluate the answers when buying original works of art or reproductions anywhere from a street artist to a blue chip gallery. Deborah Bigeleisen, an internationally renowned mid-career painter, who lives and works in West Palm Beach will lead this fun and informative discussion.

Alzheimer’s Support Group
The Alzheimer’s Association offers monthly caregiver support groups to help educate, empower, and support those caring for someone living with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia. These support group meetings occur on the first Tuesday of the month. For more information, please call Nancy Ginden at 954-895-8329. Don’t face this alone!

Bereavement Support Group
The Alpert Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Palm Beach County offers a bimonthly support group on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month and provide a trusting, intimate and confidential atmosphere to share feelings with others going through the loss of a spouse. Timely Topics Discussion Group
Join lively discussions covering the most up-to-date topics faced by our local community including national affairs and foreign relations as it relates to Israel and the United States.
Facilitator: Arnold Borinsky has been interested in politics and its effects for his entire adult life. The past eleven years, he has lectured, debated, and lead current event discussion groups at venues from Jupiter to Boca.

Ladies of Literature
Books may take us to faraway places and eras, give us a different view on life, tap into our emotions, or provide an escape for a few hours. Join other women who love to read and discuss literature. Please read Natasha and Other Stories by Daniel Bezmozgis for August.
Facilitator: Sandy Cavanagh is an experienced discussion leader. She has a background in education, and taught English in Kings Park, New York before becoming the Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Curriculum and Instruction in that school district.

Men’s Book Club
Hang out at the Mandel JCC to talk about books and schmooze with other men. Each month a different member will lead the book discussion. The book read for August is: My Promised Land, by Ari Shavit.
