Welcome to the Spring 2014 session of the
Mandel JCC Palm Beach Gardens Academy of Continuing Education

Two semesters ago, in the fall of 2013, the Academy of Continuing Education opened its doors to the community with the promise to provide a rich and varied selection of classes that would allow participants to learn new concepts, revisit interests, and stay current with what was happening in their world, and the promise of an opportunity for meeting new people. The feedback received from Academy members has assured us that we have kept those promises. It is our goal to continue to do so.

The Academy course catalog remains a treasure chest loaded with gems. Academy participants can choose courses from a variety of topics. Though we have new classes, and a new format, you will find some of your favorites.

We are grateful to our incredibly talented faculty who put together these thought provoking, informative, and entertaining classes for the spring semester. We can’t thank them enough for sharing their knowledge and expertise with us.

Besides classes, the Academy presents a variety of Special Events such as author, lobbyist, political advisor Richard Feldman’s discussion on Both Sides of the Gun Controversy, and Inside the Music, a simulcast presented by New World Symphony Fellows.

We thank Presenting Sponsors, Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center and Capital Group Private Client Services, whose generous sponsorship and participation are making it possible for The Academy to provide courses geared to meet the highquality requirements of the surrounding communities. We also thank our track sponsors, South Florida Home Care, Savannah Court, and Always Best Care for their support and involvement.

The Academy of Continuing Education wishes to thank our members and participants for their support of our program. While the staff is our brain, and the instructors our heart, you are our soul. It is your spirit, your joy of learning, and your desire for what we provide that is responsible for our growth.
