Welcome to the Fall 2015 session of the
Mandel JCC, Boynton Beach Academy of Continuing Education
Welcome back! As we prepare to open the Fall 2015 ACE season, the Mandel JCC welcomes everybody to peruse our new Program Guide! After a season of renovation, modernization, and construction, the recently remodeled entrance and reception areas have rapidly become a popular location for ACE members to meet and gather. Our "great hall" and art gallery provide a welcoming location for the Mandel JCC to host events as well as provide a comfortable setting for all who visit. In addition, the new adjacent activity room offers a spacious and modern classroom, lecture, as well as activity space that will enhance the programs of the Mandel JCC.
As we look ahead to the fall session of ACE, we invite members to encourage their friends and families to join us for many exciting and important events that will be scheduled throughout the year. One of the highlights for ACE is the appearance and talk by Lois Frankel, former West Palm Beach Mayor and now Congresswoman from Palm Beach County. This presentation will provide a lively conversation detailing the political scene. .There are a lot of other new exciting classes this fall including discussions with Andy Greenberg, a television journalist, and motivational speaker, as well as Grandma Googles, a series about computers, technology, and moving ahead in the 21st century. There are dozens of other topics such as presidential trivia, brain challenges, reminiscing about Brooklyn, stress reduction, Jewish Mysticism, Yiddish, and so much more!
Plus, we always have our oldies but goodies including World History, Magic for Grandparents, All That Jazz, and our popular Cultural Fridays series bringing alternate weeks of film and ballet/opera and World History.
Finally, current events and political happenings, as always, play a large role in the schedule. Current events discussions relating to world, national and local happenings are plentiful in ACE. This popular segment of our schedule has a number of opportunities for you to share your perspectives. As we prepare for the 2016 election, which will be a major shaping of our future, learn and contribute opposing viewpoints.
Once again, we thank our volunteer instructors who provide a wealth of knowledge and expertise to ACE members and guests. Looking forward to seeing everyone around the "campus!"
