Your participation in “Friends of the J” is more than a membership in a club, it’s an investment in your local Jewish community.  By supporting the J, you not only help us serve as a center for Jewish and community life, but you also enable us as a Jewish community to carry out the Jewish obligation to repair the world.

A strong “Friends of the J” program helps provide scholarships to less fortunate families, enabling their children to attend our highly-regarded after school and summer camp programs. You also help bring quality speakers for our renowned adult education programs, and increase the quality and quantity of films screened at our renowned annual Palm Beach Jewish Film Festival.

Numerous studies show that children who are exposed to Jewish values and culture at Jewish summer camps often stay connected to Jewish life as adults. At JCC Camp Shalom children develop a sense of Jewish identity, an affinity for Israel, and a strong connection to the Jewish community through sports, music, art, cooking, dance and special events.

Young families are among the hardest hit by the crippling economic downturn and staggering unemployment. Requests for camp scholarships have skyrocketed while donations have plummeted and the JCC Children’s Scholarship fund has been depleted. These families need rescue. Please help the JCC Children’s Scholarship Fund. Your donation is vital to the lives of hundreds of Jewish children and their families. We must not fail them during this critical time.
