Dr. David R. Mote is a board certified Chiropractic Physician. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine in 1990 at New York Chiropractic College. Subsequently, he completed and is board eligible in Chiropractic Orthopedics. He has also received two additional years of training in Chiropractic Neurology at New York Chiropractic College.
As a 20+ year practicing Chiropractic Physician, Dr. Mote believes patients should be treated by reliable and competent physicians that "truly" understand the effects of injury on the human structure.
Finding a competent chiropractic physician that understands changing health care needs, and uses the safest and most current techniques can be a laborious and daunting task. Dr. Mote has dedicated his career to helping individuals, their families and friends to improve their quality of life both safely and effectively.

What is Aquatic Therapy?
Aquatic therapy is a quantum leap forward in rehabilitation. At Palm Beach Aquatics and Physical Therapy, aquatic therapy is administered in a specially designed, technologically advanced pool and compliments traditional, land based physical therapy programs. Treatment is provided "only" by licensed physical therapists trained and certified in aquatic therapy and water safety. Our therapists are also trained and certified in advanced aquatic therapy techniques such as: Ai Chi, Lumbar Stabilization in an Aquatic Setting for Spinal Fusion, Aquatic Progression, and more.
Often after an injury or surgery, a patient's sensitivity to pain is increased while weight bearing, which restricts his or her activities on land. In water the effects of gravity are reduced and functional activities and motion can occur. The properties of water allow the patient to exercise in a relatively "low or no impact" environment that provides more comfortable movement and enhanced range of motion. Water supports the body, reduces joint stress, and provides resistance and assistance to movement in a truly unique manner. Patients can improve mobility, strength, and function rapidly during the healing process.

How can you take the plunge into our aquatic therapy program?
A physician's referral is required to participate in aquatic physical therapy. Each aquatic therapy session is individually designed to meet the patients needs and nature of his or her condition. A pool session my last 30-45 minutes. Patients do no have to know how to swim to participate in aquatic physical therapy.
Patients work "one-on-one" with their therapist and are never left unattended while in the pool. Treatments may include a warm up which may be followed by balance and stabilization exercises, strengthening, gait training, and endurance exercise. In-pool treatment may include the use of underwater treadmill, in-pool steps, paddles, noodles, and weights. Land exercise and manual or hands-on therapy may also be prescribed in the patients plan of treatment.
