“If you could hear peace, it would sound like laughter.”

"Stand Up For Peace shows audiences that Jews and Arabs not only can get along as comedy professionals, but that each can have a respectful sense of humor about themselves and the other's culture and politics. We need to support them, think like them, and send them on the road around the world as ambassadors of peace and pleasure." -  Larry Litt, N.Y. Theater Wire

"We hope that our comedy can bridge the gaps between Arabs and Jews and help foster understanding," explains Obeidallah.

"Our show is a very funny and highly effective way of bringing communities and campuses together", says Blakeman.

Blakeman, who appears regularly at New York's cutting edge cultural center Makor and at the 92nd St. Y, teaches a Standup Comedy Workshop at The New School, where his students have included Jon Stewart and Caroline Rhea. NBC-TV said he is, "the top political comedian working in New York today," and The New York Times called him, "an astute, funny political observer."  Blakeman’s political humor (from a liberal Jewish point of view) has been showcased in Laughs From The Left at Guild Hall in East Hampton, The Knitting Factory in New York and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland.

Obeidallah’s comedy comes in large part from his unique background as the son of a Palestinian father and a Sicilian mother. Dean, who was at one time a practicing attorney, has been featured on numerous national and international television  programs, including ABC's "20/20," CNN's "Wolf Blitzer Reports" and "Morning Show," CNN International's "Inside the Middle East," Japan's NHK and MSNBC's "Nachman," as well as the national radio network, Air America. His jokes have been featured on “Saturday Night Live” and CBS's "Late, Late Show."
